I made a reservation for 3 persons online and went to the hostel for 2 days. One month later, i received an email saying i did not show in the hostel and a cancellation fee must apply.

The same night that the manager of the hotel reassured my husband and I that the area of the hotel just looks sketchy but it's actually "very safe", someone came into our room in the middle of the night, while we were sleeping, and stole over $800 in cash, which was our entire budget for the trip. We have reason to believe that it was someone from the hotel who had some this. To be robbed while on vacation in a foreign country is something that one could say is expected and that can happen to anyone, and yes, that is true. However, being robbed while you're in your room in the middle of the night is something else. Not only is that a violation of your personal belongings, but privacy among other things. When we told the manager in the morning what had happened, he was very quick to say that we don't have to pay for our three nights there. You're probably gonna be safer sleeping in a rent a car than to stay here. Breakfast is very good, but if you get robbed, it's gonna be the most expensive breakfast you ever had. Or, just don't bring cash, and go to the bank machine for everything you may need to buy.
